Over the last decade, the existing 9000 hardware series has been redesigned, re-engineered, and transformed into the groundbreaking 9000X Series. DW listened to touring drummers and techs about their experiences and set out to design the 9000X hardware with the most demanding gigs and setups in mind. The result is a new level of functionality that considers every aspect of the hardware experience. Each stand is designed for simple, repeatable, time-saving setup at every gig.
DW’s R&D team has applied technological advances and new levels of precision engineering to develop drummer-friendly features and improvements in every stand. A case in point is the revolutionary boom angle adjustment with AutoLock™, a patent-pending mechanism that effortlessly and securely tightens itself. Another innovation is InnerLock™, a modular, internal cable system that controls height memory adjustment. Boom stands can now be fully collapsed for transport, with traditional memory locks no longer required. This is a game-changer for speedy setups and breakdowns.
Stability and durability have always been crucial, especially for heavy hitters. The new 9000X hardware is fabricated from the heaviest gauge, seamless steel tubing, with a flex-free Ultra-Rigid tripod base design. Stackable MOD weights can be added to either the tripod base or the stand legs for even greater stability.
Other breakthroughs include newly designed drop-in AirLift® cartridges for effortless height adjustment when repositioning heavy snare drums or rack toms, a unique quick-release hi-hat rod system, and asymmetrical snare baskets optimized for 10-lug snare drums.
The complete line of 9000X Series hardware includes three Cymbal Stands (9700XIL/9701XIL/9710XIL), four Hi-Hat Stands (9500X/9500TX/9500XFX/9500XFTX), two Snare Stands (9300X/9339X), and three Tom Stand models (991X/992X/9791x).
