D’AddarioPromark is set to launch just a handful of new products at NAMM 2017, led by two new sticks, for Kimberley Thompson and Anton Fig. The company will also have two new stick bags, the Sliver Essentials Stick Bag and the Transport Deluxe Stick Bag (SESB RRP £28.90 and Deluxe TDSB at £55.00).
The Sliver Essentials Stick Bag is part of a new, high-quality line of stick bags. With enough room to fit four pairs of drumsticks comfortably, this bag allows drummers to travel with the essential tools for any gig without extra trips back to the car. The Transport Deluxe Stick Bag features magnetic secured, leather carrying handles, a large front-zippered pocket, a zippered interior pocket, metal hanging tom-mounts, a leather business card slot, a metal key leash, a pencil slot, a deluxe leather pocket for a wallet and cell phone, and ample drumstick storage.
The Kimberley Thompson stick (RRP £14.90) is a new introduction for a relatively new member of the Promark user family. Having famously played with Beyoncé, Kimberly Thompson teamed up with Promark to make a 7A drum stick with finesse, measuring .535” in diameter and featuring an extra half-inch in length for a little extra reach and ease of play.
‘This stick achieves the perfect balance and weight which accommodates a variety of musical applications and players performance styles,’ Thompson says. ‘… The long taper and small round tip allow for a responsive stick with clear articulation on drums and cymbals.’
The Anton Fig ActiveGrip stick (RRP £16.59) features the same dimensions of Anton’s previous signature model – .595” (5B) diameter, 16 ¾” length and now includes ActiveGrip finish. The short taper, large round bead, and large dimensions of this stick allow for the high sound projection Anton requires in his live performances.
