New Vox combos deliver heavyweight models from lightweight packages

Vox has joined the list of manufacturers trailing their Winter NAMM launches in advance of the show’s opening date by releasing news of two new modelling combos, the VX50 GTV and the VX15 GT.

Both sport Vox’s successful modelling technology but do so in unusually lightweight combo form, which they manage despite featuring Nutubes, which promise valve sounds from modern technology devices.

The VX50 GTV features a sealed bass reflex enclosure made of metallic coloured ABS and in addition to eleven preset models of famous amp sounds comes with eight built-in modulateion’delay’reverb effects. The amp’s line out features a cabinet simulator and the amp comes with a USB audio interface which allows the amp’s Nutube sound to be recorded directly to a computer as well as user programs that can be expanded by using the separately sold VFS5 foot switch. Newly added is a LINE type which supports not only electric guitar but also acoustic guitar, further expanding this unit’s usefulness. .

The VX50 GTC will have an SSP of £219 and will be available in March.

The VX 15GT follows a similar design ethic, delivering 15 Watts from an even more lightweight package, while boasting most of its big brother’s array of effects and features. It will carry an SSP £129 and will also be available in March.
