JHS reveal new acoustic, electric and bass guitars from Vintage, Rapier, Revo and Fret Dancer

JHS have revealed a host of exciting new models from popular guitar brands making their world debut at NAMM 2024, these include the Vintage® Revo Series™, Vintage® ProShop® Unique Series, Vintage® FretDancer Series 6/12 acoustic and electro-acoustic guitars, Vintage® Stage Series electro- acoustic guitars and Rapier™ guitars and basses.

Vintage Fret Dancer:

 

Fret Dancer 6-String

Designed by English guitarist and blues historian Paul Brett, the new Vintage Fret Dancer Series of acoustic and electro-acoustic guitars are launched in honour of the late Johnny Joyce, a legend himself on the British folk and blues music scene, who dedicated his career to the 12 string guitar.

Whilst performing as a duo partner with Brett, Joyce also played with many blues greats, including Howling Wolf, Jesse Fuller, Reverend Gary Davis, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee.

Both models are available as acoustic and electro-acoustic, 6 and 12 string models, the Fret Dancer Series is the latest addition to Brett’s highly successful series of instruments in the Vintage catalogue.

Vintage Revo Series:

With their retro lines and hybrid designs created by the legendary British guitar luthier and hardware specialist Alan Entwistle, the new Revo Series electric guitars and basses is one of many new Vintage guitar lines making their world debut at The NAMM Show in Los Angeles California, January 2024.

All Vintage Revo electric guitars feature Entwistle low noise single coil, mini, full size double coils and soap bar pickups, Wilkinson time-honoured hardware and Entwistle’s ingenious ATN switching system offering a host of sonic permutations.

Two new single cutaway models designed as ‘players guitars’ include the solid bodied Revo Trio, aptly named with 3 Entwistle P90 pickups, and the Vintage Revo Midline Hardtail fitted out with a pair of Alan Entwistle humbuckers.

Available in three different Entwistle Artec and Astrosonic pickup permutations, SS, HS and HH, the new small-bodied Vintage Revo Colt Twin, has been specifically designed to reach the needs for players of all styles of music.

The Colt SS Twin with a retro style vibrato system and the Colt HH Twin Hardtail both feature maple necks, GraphTech precision-cut nuts Wilkinson EZ Lok machine heads and 22 fret jatoba fingerboards and individual on/off pickup switches, while the Colt HS sits proud with a 3-way selector, a retro style vibrato and a 22 fret bound jatoba or maple fingerboard with block position markers.

Renowned for their clarity and tone, with ample output to drive pedals whilst remaining clear and articulate with the guitar volume wound back, both, the Vintage Revo Vision and Revo Deluxe are extremely versatile with the effortless ability to adapt to any style of music.

The Revo Deluxe itself, with a solid okoume body, maple neck and bound 22 fret jatoba fingerboard with block inlays, features separate on/off pickup slide switches and Entwistle circuitry that includes a variable bass and treble bleed system operable via Tone 1 and Tone 2 controls.

Also, with a maple neck, bound 22 fret fingerboard with block inlays, the cute Revo Vision with a 5-way selector switch, Wilkinson machine heads, GraphTech precision-cut nut and a Wilkinson 3-saddle hardtail compensating bridge, is ready to rock with a bound body that features a unique transonic spring cavity in the rear for added sustain.

Fans of big bodied semi-acoustic electric guitars from the 60’s, will adore the new Revo Series Superthin with its double bound body, mahogany set neck, 22 fret bound jatoba fingerboard with distinctive patterned inlays and retro vibrato design.

Classic style visuals are intensified with a 3-ply scratchplate, Volume, Tone and Bass-Cut switch control panel and individual on/off slide switch panel for the three Entwistle HFS 63 low noise humbuckers.

The new Revo Supreme and Revo Callan 4 string bass guitars feature an RT64 pickup at the bridge for an edgy attack and a large humbucker at the neck delivering a full rounded smooth, weighty response via individual volume and tone controls and 3-way selector, the natural semi-acoustic tonal characteristics of the Vintage Revo Supreme twin cutaway maple constructed, big bodied bass are upfront and plentiful.

The maple neck and 22 fret, bound jatoba fingerboard with dot inlays offer superb playability, whilst smooth operative Wilkinson tuners, a precision-cut GraphTech nut and a fully adjustable sturdy chrome bridge enrich the low frequency sustain. Available in Cherry Red, Blue Burst and Natural.

Whilst there’s no denying the mistakable classic sounds of chords and solo note runs played in a lower pitch on baritone guitars, the new Vintage Revo Series Custom Supreme Baritone VI offers a whole new outlook on these popular models.

The natural resonance of the maple constructed, double cutaway semi- acoustic body, is enhanced via 3 Entwistle low-noise RT 64 humbuckers capturing true baritone sonics with clarity and power, with master volume, two tone controls and individual pickup on/off slide switches.

Beautiful on the eye, with a bound body, maple neck and 22 fret, bound jatoba fingerboard with block inlays, GraphTech precision-cut nut and chrome hardware that includes Wilkinson machine heads, roller bridge and vintage style vibrato system.

The new Vintage Revo semi-hollow Surfmaster Twin and Surfmaster Quad replicating the unending appeal of the offset solid bodied guitars, feature stunning visuals and highly individual electronics.

With a quartet of Entwistle RTS3 Astrosonic pickups each with individual on/off switches, the Surfmaster Quad available in Black, Metallic White and Firenza Red, offers an incredible 15 pickup combinations and, when combined with the ATN Variator system total a staggering 75 possible tonal options from one guitar, whilst the Surfmaster Twin, with a pair of Entwistle low-noise humbuckers also looks stunning finished in Trans Orange, Greenburst or Arctic White.

Both, the new Vintage Revo Integra and Surfmaster 12, replicate the unending appeal of offset bodied guitars, featuring attractive visuals and highly individual electronics.

There’s an appealing 70’s aura within the new Vintage Revo Integra, with its satin finished ash/mahogany/maple 7-piece body, black pickguard visually offset with a pair of Entwistle low noise, coil-tapped humbucking pickups which, when combined with the ATN switching system perform as an exceptionally versatile guitar, looking the part with a 22 fret jatoba fingerboard with block inlays, reversed headstock, precision-cut GraphTech nut, Wilkinson tuners and bridge.

Vintage Pro Shop:

New guitars in the popular Vintage® ProShop® Unique Series making their world debut at NAMM 2024, are themed with an incredibly accurate aged persona, authenticity created in the UK by the Vintage team of highly skilled luthiers, the only way they know how.

The Vintage ProShop Unique V6 Die Brüke ’61, is again, a unique instrument, created by the Vintage team of skilled luthiers in the UK, which also features the work of German pickup maestro Andreas Kloppmann.

As with all Vintage ProShop guitars, it’s the fine details that personalise these exquisite electric guitars and, as often is the case, it’s the first visual impression that guitar players adore.

The flawless cosmic finish on the Vintage V100 ProShop Unique Nebula is a fine example. Once again created by the highly skilled team of Vintage luthiers, this exquisite, unique one-off with a bound mahogany body and neck and 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, visually explodes with a burst of brilliant, ever shifting reflecting multiple colours, looking stunning in natural light or under stage lights.

With a Neon Green finish hand-sanded to reveal areas of the Eastern poplar tonewood body, offset with a black satin, triple-ply scratchplate and aged cream controls, pickup covers, a gorgeous amber-tinted hard rock maple neck and 22 fret fingerboard, the Vintage V6 ProShop Unique with matching Neon Green headstock is truly stunning, effortlessly emulating a well loved, well played guitar with a natural vintage patina.

Again looking stunning with a skilfully hand-applied aged theme, the awesome Vintage V75 ProShop Unique with an American alder body finished in a cool acrylic, satin Neon Pink with matching headstock, also features Wilkinson E-Z-Lok machine heads, control plate, neck plate, and bridge plate sprayed black and distressed.

The new Vintage Stage Series of electro-acoustic guitars, available in three popular sizes, Folk, Parlour and Grand Auditorium, feature solid spruce soundboards, mahogany backs, sides and high pressure laminate (HPL) fingerboards.
Built to last, by the company’s specially trained workforce, the new satin finished Vintage Stage Series electro-acoustic guitars, with an appreciable amount of excellent appointments, all share the same cash-sparing retail price point that’s often associated with stripped-back guitars.

With the combinational build of solid spruce for the soundboards, renowned for its sonic characteristics, strength to weight ratio and natural tight grain, along with the immense stability of the environmentally friendly high pressure laminate fingerboards, all models are exceptionally strong, benefiting rapid vibrant note transference and stable tuning, whilst highly resistant to temperature fluctuations within weather and humidity.

Rapier Mercury:

The new Rapier Mercury is based on original 60’s iconic brands that played a major role in the industry of British built guitars and basses from the 1960s.

Whilst maintaining all the visual charm of the originals, like all models in the Rapier Series, the Rapier Mercury features significant upgrades to meet the needs of the modern player.

This superb short –scale, double-cut model with its reduced cutaway on the underside of the okoume body, allows easy access to the full length of the mahogany neck and all 24 frets of the bound, double octave jatoba fingerboard.

Rapier Taurus:

The new Rapier Taurus is based on original 60’s iconic brands that played a major role in the industry of British built guitars and basses from the 1960s.

This superb double cutaway, with its distinctive curved horns and narrow waist okoume body, now features significant upgrades to meet the requirements of the modern player.
These include a maple neck with a bound 23 fret (including zero fret) jatoba fingerboard, a sensitive Hi Lo vibrato system where stable tuning and accurate intonation and return to pitch are spot on every time via Wilkinson machine heads, a precision cut GraphTech nut and a fully adjustable roller bridge.
