Vintage’s V100 gets custom shop treatment

JHS’s much admired Vintage V100 is receiving the custom shop treatment for 2019. One of the most popular models in the range, the V100, now comes with all-new pickup configurations, colours and hardware. 2019 Vintage V100 models also come equipped with Graphtech NuBone XB nuts which provide enhanced bass response and greater lower register harmonics.

Vintage V100MRN

The Vintage V100MRN sports a Natural Maple finish, gold hardware and a pair of Wilkinson WOHHB open double coil pickups. JHS says: ‘The V100MRN calls to mind images of glam rock rebels and eight-legged, outer space travellers. The guitar’s iconic appearance is capped by the inclusion of a stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge, mismatched tone and volume knobs, and Grover 102 tuners with keystone buttons. Certain to appeal to All the Young Dudes, and some of the older ones too, plug in the V100MRN and prepare to go interstellar’. No prizes for guessing which native guitar hero from Hull they referring to!

Vintage V1003CSB

In similar vein, JHS continues: ‘The Vintage V1003CSB is one of a selection of triple pickup V100s to debut in 2019. Dressed to Kill in a glamtastic Cherry Sunburst finish, the V1003CSB is outfitted with a trio of Wilkinson WOHHB double coil pickups, an uncovered, unadulterated tonal triplet that sound Hotter than Hell! Elsewhere the guitar is equipped with a Wilkinson WJ303 bridge, chrome hardware, and traditional two tone/two volume pot and three-way toggle configuration. With no scratchplate or pickup covers, the V1003CSB Keeps It Stupid Simple; strap it on, play it loud and find your inner Spaceman.’

A new addition to the Vintage stable, the V1003BB comes in Boulevard Black and features a trio of Wilkinson WOHCB double coil pickups: ‘for brand new, mid-rich tones’. Joining the V1003BB in the three pickup club, is the V1003AW, in Arctic White. Complete with gold hardware, black control knobs and scratchplate, the V1003AW sports the same Wilkinson WOHCB double coil pickups and Wilkinson WJ303 machine heads as the V1003BB. ‘If regal appearance, expanded tone options and near-infinite sustain are on your list of guitar ‘must haves’, the V1003 is everything you’ve been waiting for’.

JHS bills the V100NB as: ‘the ultimate studio-going electric guitar’. Available in two Sunburst colours, Tobacco and Cherry, the V100NB is stripped right back to the basics. Without body binding and sporting simple dot position markers on a Mahogany neck, the V100NB is equipped with Wilkinson WJ44 tuners and a pair of uncovered Wilkinson WOHHB double coil pickups.

Vintage V100PBB

Rounding out the new selection of V100 models, the V100PBB offers: ‘An appealing alternative to the 2019 crop. Equipped with a pair of Wilkinson W90 SK Black pickups, the V100PBB is as reassuringly weighty as its stablemates, but offers a pleasant tonal twist, courtesy of its pickup set. Defined lows, throaty mids and transparent highs are all part of the package, whilst gold Wilkinson hardware ensures that the V100PBB looks every bit as classy as it sounds’.
