NAMM 2018: Sadowsky

Roger Sadowsky is launching his new MetroExpress basses at NAMM 2018, a new departure for the respected US bass specialist as the range is being made in Japan and will be even more affordable than the established Japanese made MetroLine models. MetroExpress instruments are made under the supervision of Yoshi Kikuchi. Roger and Yoshi began working together in 1993, when Yoshi started a year-long internship at the Sadowsky NYC shop. In 2003, when Roger set out to launch his first line of affordable basses, Yoshi recruited a team of veterans from the Japanese guitar industry to set up a shop in Japan to produce the MetroLine series. Fifteen years and 10,000 basses later,  Sadowsky has forged a relationship with one of the top factories in Japan to produce an even more affordable instrument.

The MetroExpress basses will include the Sadowsky pre-amp as well as Sadowsky pickups, strings, and hardware. Instruments will be available in 4 and 5 string vintage models with the following finishes: black,Olympic white, candy apple red, sage green metallic, ice blue metallic, and tobacco burst. Built with either an alder body and morado fingerboard or an ash body and maple fingerboard, each bass is guaranteed to weigh less than 8.9 pounds. US List price is $1,875 for the 4-string models and $1,975 for the 5-string models.
