Italia, the Trevor Wilkinson designed retro guitar brand, distributed by JHS, has three new models – two guitars and a bass.
The guitars are led by the Imola Vario which features a redesigned body cavity for better tone as well as weight reduction, and even more tonal variation in the pickup configurations. Classic style 3-way switches split the bass and treble sides of all three Italia Duplex pickups (or to control the six mini pickups). An added 5-position rotary switch allows the player to dial every combination. The Vario comes with a Wilkinson WV6 vibrato system and Italia locking machine heads and is supplied with a padded gig bag. It’s available in Satin Yellow and Satin Purple finishes.
The other new Italia guitar follows on from the introduction of the Jeff Foskett (Beach Boys) signature 12-string last year and is the ITFJ6 Jeff Foskett Signature 6 String. The ITJF6 comes with three Wilkinson mini humbuckers, with a master volume, tone, blend and separate middle pickup volume controls. It’s finished in Pearl White with an Italia trapeze tailpiece and also comes with padded bag.
Finally, the Maranello Cavo bass features a chambered mahogany body construction with Italia’s signature f-hole design. The Cavo’s light weight, and 30” scale length promises to make the bass ease to handle. Equipped with a pair of Italia Toaster bass humbuckers with master volume, tone and blend controls the Cavo comes in Racing Green or Trans Red finishes the Cavo also comes complete with padded bag.
