Dist-X, the distribution arm of Blackstar, has added veteran UK guitar brand Gordon Smith and the Auden acoustic line to its portfolio of brands, which includes Blackstar, Alvarez and Dean Markley strings. Dist-X assumed UK distribution of the new additions on 1st February.
Founded in 1974, Gordon Smith is the UK’s longest running electric guitar manufacturer, Dist-X claims, and its guitars have been used by many successful bands, notably powered the Buzzcocks and the Stone Roses. Auden Guitars are Asian made then craftsman assembled and finished by a team in the UK.
Auden Managing Director Doug Sparkes says: ‘We are delighted to be working with DIST-X Distribution and to have them distributing our guitars. There are many shared values between our organisations and they are a perfect fit to represent Auden and Gordon Smith. Market expertise, product knowledge and passion for music is evident throughout the DIST-X team and we are excited by the opportunity that this agreement brings. We look forward to working closely and successfully together.’
DIST-X Sales Manager Drew McDonald adds: ‘We are excited to have Auden and Gordon Smith guitars in the DIST-X portfolio. The heritage of Gordon Smith combined with the high quality of Auden guitars strengthens the DIST-X portfolio and gives us an incredible product and margin offering to UK dealers. My team and I are looking forward to the opportunities ahead.’
