AXL launches Bel Air solid

US-based AXL has announced the UK launch of its solid bodied Bel Air guitar. Designed and assembled by hand in the AXL workshops in Hayward, California, AXL’s UK distributor RJH Guitars says the Bel Air offers a modern twist on classic retro design.

The Bel Air boasts a flat-topped, single cutaway, double-bound solid mahogany body, a one-piece mahogany set neck, Graphtech Tusq XL nut, inlaid gloss headstock, and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. The hardware earns the guitar its ‘Old School Cool’ tag, with Kluson tuners, nickel finished Bigbsy B5 vibrato system, a TonePros Locking Roller bridge, and single volume and tone controls with coil-tap facilities for the bridge-positioned TV Jones Power’Tron, with vintage style surround.

RJH says the high output TV Jones Power’Tron with its enhanced dynamic range is ideally suited to the Bel Air, where treble notes are delivered with a punchy tone and sustain, whilst remaining a full 7.8k output when coil-tapped.

Finished in Orange Sparkle, Light Blue and Metallic Black the Bel Air is destined to sell for RRP £999. Info: www.recording-king.co.uk
