Sound On Sound magazine’s SynthFest UK, destined for Sheffield this October, is already a sell out, the magazine reports.
SynthFest UK takes place at Sheffield’s Octagon Centre on Saturday 1st October and will features a Manufacturers’ Showcase Village, Modular Meet Camp with related retailers, alongside a programme of seminars, talks and demos, all included in the ticket price.
Described as an ‘all things synth’ show, SOS says the event was created: “to give companies of all sizes an opportunity to showcase their synth products in front of the public in what promises to be a great day out for all musicians and synth enthusiasts, whether pro, semi-pro or hobbyist.”
Reinforcing the importance of niche events, SOS says: “With the ever-growing worldwide interest in analogue, digital and modular synths, more and more synth gear is now coming onto the market in all forms, from new designs and vintage re-releases from big brand manufacturers to modular systems from small boutique makers. But whilst the bigger-brand products are easily seen at major music dealers around the country, small boutique companies have far fewer opportunities to show off their amazing products directly to the public.”
In addition to a packed line-up of demonstrations and talks, the exhibitors include AJH Synth, Analogue Solutions, Arturia, Eventide, Genelec, Gforce, Lamond Design, Modal Electronics, Moog, Patchblocks, Rebel Technology, Rubadub Music & Technology, Soulsby Synthesizers, Soundgas, Steinberg, Studio Electronics, Thonk – DIY Synthesizer Kits and Yamaha.
Tickets are priced at £10 in advance and £15 on the day.
