CUK Audio invests as portfolio grows

Following yesterdays announcement (15/7/2019) of CUK Audio’s UK and Ireland distribution news of the acoustic guitar brand Recording King, the company prepares for the future with a growing portfolio and new appointment.

The new building of which CUK moved into on the 5th of June and is now fully operational, is situated in Peel Park around 10 miles from the company’s existing Glasgow HQ. It will provide space for the distributor’s expanding back office, sales and technical teams and also house five training suites and a distribution centre with over 750 pallet locations and 1000 small item locations.

CUK’s new warehouse facility

Stuart Thomson, CUK MD, comments: “When we moved to our current Glasgow location back in 2010, we thought there was more space than we could ever need. However, since then, we have delivered year-on-year growth which has accelerated since a change in ownership and the restructuring of the company in to four divisions two years ago. Over the past year, it became apparent that we were very near the limit of what our building could accommodate, and the search was on for a new property that would allow us to continue on our steep growth trajectory.”
Simon Druce, sales director, adds: “The move is not just for practical reasons; it is part of our strategy to invest in enhancing the service we provide our customers. The first benefits customers can expect are improved delivery times and better facilities for our educational events but that is just the start.”

As part of the move and growing company portfolio, CUK have also announced the appointment of Amit Mohan.

Amit Mohan newly appointed Regional Sales Manager Production & Performance Division

Amit lands in the new CUK operation with the position of Regional Sales Manager with the company’s Production & Performance Division.

Mohan commented: “I’ve followed the development of CUK Audio for a while. When they made contact and wanted me to visit them at their new facility to discuss a possible opportunity curiosity took over. It was clear from their vision and the brands they talked about that this was an exciting opportunity, which made the decision really easy. As a gigging guitarist myself, I found it particularly exciting to get involved with some awesome and well respected brands and to develop them in the UK market. I now can’t wait to get out into the market and show what we have to offer.”

CUK Audio’s Managing Director, Stuart Thomson commented: “With increased diversity and an expanded portfolio comes the need for a larger team. It was critically important that we found someone with experience and the right attitude and approach to business. Amit fits the bill and understands our company and what we are working to deliver perfectly – we are all really pleased that he decided to join our team.”

Mohan’s appointment is effective immediately.
