Just a week after Anthem Publishing announced the sale of Music Tech and The Guitar Magazine to Singapore’s BandLab Technologies, MIN has learned that Future Publishing’s Bass Guitar Magazine is to be merged with its newly acquired US title Bass Player.
Details of the merger and how the two titles will operate are unclear but MIN understands UK editor Joel McIver, who has edited BGM since 2012, will henceforth edit both titles, while Bass Player editor Chris Jisi, along with other members of the BP staff, will become freelance on what McIver described in an email to contributors as a ‘hybrid magazine’.
MIN contacted Future Publishing for details of the merger but has received no reply.
