MIN Shares Thoughts & Support

Music Instrument News is continuing to have communication with various businesses small and large over these past weeks of lockdown, which is set to continue pending the formal announcement this Thursday from the government for a further 3 weeks.

Comments received have ranged from, “things will never be the same”, “hold our finger in the air reference budgeting”, to the question to “why is MIN not sharing advice on how to tackle this global pandemic” of which all comments and feedback are welcome. Encouragingly, one distributor MIN caught up with spoke of record sales from one particular online retailer, providing some comfort, that despite restricted movement, consumers were digging in with their latest MI purchase, be it to learn or improve their love of playing a musical instrument.

MIN, throughout this current and ongoing crisis, will as always, support the MI trade with news of products, company innovations to promote the art of playing or the recording of a musical instrument, along with relevant content sharing on its consumer titles to keep folks engaged with music. As an industry, we all face these challenge together, be it a small one man business making custom orders, to the MI giants.

At these unprecedented times, despite the stress and pressures of surviving the economic fall-out, our thoughts are also divided between our friends and family, the lack of direct contact and the concerns, speaking personally of my mother recovering from cancer and a step-father continuing his battle with a serious breathing illness, of which I am sure we can all relate to with the care of your loved ones.

Government advice is being shared via the relevant pages of the GOV.co.uk website to support businesses, employees and the self employed, which has been complemented and shared by the UK’s MI trade association the MIA.

Friends and colleagues in our small industry, we will get through this, not all unscathed, but eventually. So for our small part, send us your news, send us your stories how you have creatively overcome challenges or what you and your business can offer in way of retail support, or new online initiatives or content to share with consumers that I know a number of companies are presently working on.
