Roland has announced a major update for ZENOLOGY GX for iPad, its free synthesiser powered by the ZEN-CORE Synthesis System.
AUv3 support allows the instrument to run directly inside compatible iPad DAWs and hosts, including Logic Pro for iPad and Roland Zenbeats. The AUv3 plug-in includes the complete sound-editing experience, allowing musicians to explore thousands of sounds or design their own without leaving their preferred production environment.
Pro Edit Mode provides deeper access to the ZENOLOGY sound engine for advanced sound design. Its streamlined, tab-based interface is optimised for touch, making even the instrument’s most detailed synthesis parameters accessible on iPad.
Workflow and performance improvements extend throughout the release. Redesigned CHORDS and ARP SEQ interfaces and an improved Step LFO editor make it easier to create and refine sounds on iPad. Significant CPU and memory optimizations provide a smoother, more responsive experience across a wider range of iPad models. Additional fixes further improve overall stability and usability.
The release expands the ZENOLOGY GX sound library with 10 additional Sound Packs curated by Roland staff. Together, they add 320 synth sounds and 20 drum kits spanning a wide range of musical styles, providing users with an even broader range of ready-to-play sounds and creative inspiration.
As part of Roland’s ongoing Free Experience program, ZENOLOGY GX for iPad remains available free of charge with its complete feature set unlocked. Already used by thousands of musicians, the app continues to evolve with deeper production capabilities and an ever-growing collection of classic and modern Roland sounds.
