Partnership On Equal Terms: Why NicLen Trusts Cameo

Why does a dry-hire company choose a new product? The story behind NicLen’s new investment in the Cameo ZENIT W600 G2 IP65 LED wash light doesn’t begin with technical specifications or unit numbers, but with a long-standing partnership and trust built up over the years.

Cameo and NicLen have worked closely together for many years. For the Adam Hall Group, the Dortmund-based dry-hire company is far more than just another distribution channel: “NicLen is a partner that knows exactly what professional productions require,” explains Markus Jahnel, COO of the Adam Hall Group. “The fact that they have actively added the ZENIT W600 G2 to their portfolio and hire it out to their customers is the most honest feedback we can get as a manufacturer. It shows that we haven’t just built a good product, but one that people trust at decisive moments.”

“When customers and partners come to us, they usually already have their project planning in mind and know exactly what they need,” explains Jörg Stöppler, CEO of NicLen GmbH. “Even so, a piece of our own reputation goes out with every fixture we hire out. With the ZENIT W600 G2, we know exactly what’s inside the unit, and we hold Cameo in very high regard as a manufacturer – which makes it all the more reassuring to know we can rely on it.”

A small example from a recent NicLen customer project shows how this trust pays off in practice: for an event at the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf, the German production company Late Night Concepts, based in Lünen, North Rhine-Westphalia, was looking for a suitable outdoor solution and opted for the new Cameo outdoor wash lights. Under demanding conditions, including a tight rigging window and simultaneous use as both audience lighting and atmospheric outdoor illumination, the ZENIT W600 G2 delivered across the board: “The ZENIT W600 G2 delivered: reliable performance, no surprises, and at a price that works within our calculations,” says Marcel Berger, project manager at Late Night Concepts. What follows from that? “It will definitely be scheduled again for our next production.”

The story surrounding the Cameo ZENIT W600 G2 shows how professional trust is built: a manufacturer develops products for real-world use. A dry-hire partner adds them to its portfolio based on market demand. And an end user confirms that decision under real production conditions. For Cameo, this kind of collaboration is the strongest proof that product development and partnership reinforce one another.
