On Another Level Adds Former BBC presenter Ollie Winiberg-Bettell to Drum Show and Drummer’s Review Team

Organisers of The UK Drum Show, The Europe Drum Show (new for 2025) and publishers of the impartial online review platform Drummer’s Review, are thrilled to welcome former BBC presenter Ollie Winiberg-Bettell to the team, commencing the 1st January 2025.

“Having initially introduced Ollie to our visitors and exhibitors at The UK Drum Show 2023, as Main Stage host, it was clear, and to anyone that has come to meet Ollie since, is his infectious enthusiasm and passion for drums, drummers and drumming. Couple this to Ollie’s historical and successful presenting roles, along with the growing success of the official UK Drum Show Podcast he presents, Ollie will continue his roles as Main Stage host for both the UK and Europe Drum Shows, along with overseeing the growth and expansion of Podcasts for both events and will take the lead with artist video interviews for Drummer’s Review,” states Neil Golding organiser and publisher.

“I am completely elated to be joining this family run business and cannot wait to begin my new role in the new year.”

“With my hand on my heart, beginning this new chapter is one of the most exciting prospects I have ever encountered. I’ll be doing lots of travelling and chatting with drummers, percussionists and drum enthusiasts from all over the world to provide some fantastic content for you!”

“Since I can remember, drums have been my life. I started at the age of 2, sitting on my dads lap while he controlled the pedals and I did the stick work, and from the moment those sticks entered my hands, like many drummers, I became obsessed, and this passion has remained with me ever since.”

“For 13 years I presented on BBC Radio (Radio One, BBC Music Introducing, 1xtra, the Word Service, and lots more) and in 2021 I started my own podcast on Spotify called “The Heavy Hooks Show” . A program supporting both signed and unsigned rock and metal bands. It respectfully earned a place in the top 10% of most globally shared podcasts on Spotify, and I am incredibly proud of it.”

“In 2023 I hosted the main stage at the UK Drum Show and from there built a fantastic relationship (well, I’d say more friendship) with Neil, Sharon and the rest of the Golding family, and In early 2024 we started the UK Drum Show Official Podcast, interviewing main stage artists appearing at the event before the event itself in September ’24. This podcast felt like ‘home’ to me. I’m a massive drum geek, and chatting to these inspirational players felt so natural… (also, drummers have the BEST sense of humour!)”

“In my personal life, I am a huge fan of progressive rock and listening to anything with odd time signatures is a real musical turn on for me, but my music taste is varied. I love bands like Dream Theater, Haken, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Led Zeppelin, but I also really enjoy listening to film scores from the likes of Vangelis and John Williams. Additionally, discovering new music is a passion of mine too. And lastly, whilst Spinal Tap is my favourite film, I can promise I will try to avoid any bizarre gardening accidents…”

“My dad was the most amazing drummer and will forever be my drumming hero. He passed away in 2003, so it seems fitting to dedicate this announcement to my dear father, Michael Bettell.” Ollie Winiberg-Bettell.

Ollie will be attending NAMM 2025, so any relevant drum or percussion businesses wishing to meet Ollie in person, he is contactable on ollie@drummersreview.com
