SchoolJam Announce Board Change and Strengthens Position as Promoter of Young Music talent in Germany

SchoolJam, Germany’s leading music competition for school students, announces that a change of board has taken place. With this step, SchoolJam is sending a strong signal for the continued promotion of musical talent, the popularisation of music in schools and the further development of the initiative.

After 22 years, founder Gerald Dellmann stepped down from his board position, but will remain with the association as an assessor and advisor. Gerd Essl was elected as the new chairman of SchoolJam e.V.

“Next year I will be 70 years old. Time to make a change in leadership. I am glad to have found a person in Gerd Essl who will continue the association with the same commitment and heart and soul. So the further development of this immensely important initiative is guaranteed.” GERALD DELLMANN

Essl brings with him extensive experience in the field of music promotion and has been committed to supporting aspiring musicians for many years. He is determined to continue the success story of SchoolJam e.V. and take the initiative to promote popular music in schools to new heights.

Gerd Essl elected as the new chairman of SchoolJam e.V.

“I am extremely excited and grateful to have the opportunity to lead SchoolJam e.V. as chairman. SchoolJam has already produced many talented young musicians and fostered their musical development. I look forward to continuing this valuable work and finding new ways to discover and support the musical potential of our young people.” – GERD ESSL

The SchoolJam initiative primarily wants to show pupils how much fun it is to learn an instrument and play in a band. And so the association sees itself as a committed promoter of active music-making.

SchoolJam will continue its successful tradition by giving talented young musicians the opportunity to perform in front of a wide audience and to develop musically. In addition, the competition will offer workshops and seminars to give participants the chance to learn from established music professionals and hone their musical skills.

With the change of board and the newly formed leadership, SchoolJam is optimistic about the future. The competition remains committed to discovering, promoting and supporting musical talent in Germany. The aim is to provide a platform for young people to unleash their creativity and develop their musical skills.
