The new L•2500 Series 750 is the first G&L five-string that features 19mm string spacing at the bridge, just like Leo Fender’s four-string basses including the G&L L•2000. Series 750 refers to an SAE measurement of “three-quarter-inch” string spacing: 3/4″ = 0.750″ = 19.03mm = nineteen millimetres. Current G&L 5-string basses offer a string spacing of 11/16” which works very well for many discerning players, but for those who prefer a wider, more traditional spacing will really embrace the new Series 750.
Series 750 features a new “wide 5” Saddle Lock bridge plate holding five of the same saddles as on an L•2000, while its curvaceous new body draws on classic Fender Avenue forms. New MFD humbuckers are modified for their largest footprint ever, but special care was taken to ensure harmonic fidelity while capturing deep B-string energy.
Series 750 is a fresh model yet classic Fender Avenue details are everywhere. The graceful early CLF/G&L headstock flows into a slim, rounded neck profile supported by a true dual-action truss rod and twin graphite reinforcement rods. Authentic 1980 cues continue with chunky CLF machined knobs and purposeful control plate, while color-coded mini toggle switch tips complete the Fender Avenue vibes of the late ‘70s to early ‘80s.
