AMP MODE MOSFET Boost

The AMP MODE Boost is based on the exact same MOSFET transistor boost circuit that is found in the celebrated Jackson Audio PRISM preamp. It stacks well with other pedals as well as itself. As an always-on boost or even an added a second boost to the rest of your signal chain and other drive pedals, AMP MODE can really help sculpt your drive from classic overdriven rhythm to super articulate and saturated lead tones.

  • MOSFET Boost pedal
  • Single control – less is more
  • Perfect as a preamp, always-on or to give that extra push to gain sounds
  • Tiny footprint and top mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9-18 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 10 mA current draw)

MOSFET transistors are a very popular choice for boost circuits, because they have many amp-like characteristics when they clip. However, several top-selling MOSFET-based boost pedals on the market can also have a very noticeable crackle when their gain knobs are rotated. Jackson Audio studied the behaviour and came up with a way to fix this issue, so the AMP MODE is perfectly silent when the boost knob is turned. The single boost control sets the overall boost level. AMP MODE is a true boost in that when the boost control is fully counter-clockwise, it doesn’t boost your signal, it instead acts as a unity gain buffer that bolsters your guitars signal to prevent against tonal loss when using other effects pedals or when driving long cable runs. Use the AMP MODE as a preamp for your overall signal, a boost to push an overdrive pedal even further into saturation or as a post overdrive boost to clarify and push your guitar forward in the mix. The AMP MODE features 9-18V operation, true bypass switching and a tiny footprint with top mounted jacks, all making it easy to fit into any setup.

BELLE STARR Signature Low/Mid Gain Overdrive

The result of several months of collaboration with Drew Shirley from Grammy Award winning rock band Switchfoot, the BELLE STARR is a low/mid gain pedal perfect for keeping the tone of your instrument intact. To get his signature overdriven sound, Drew runs super small, low-wattage tube amps wide-open and the BELLE STARR was designed to recreate exactly these tones.

  • Low/Mid Gain Overdrive pedal
  • Smooth and natural breakup style of non-negative feedback amps
  • Unique clipping circuit featuring MOSFET transistors instead of silicon diodes
  • Tiny footprint and top mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9-18 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 20 mA current draw)

Purposely not a high-gain overdrive, the BELLE STARR features a low/mid gain circuit that has the smooth and natural breakup characteristics of smaller, non-negative feedback amps.  To make the overdrive as natural-sounding and amp-like as possible, Jackson Audio incorporated a unique clipping circuit that features MOSFET transistors instead of traditional silicon diodes. 8 months of dialling in the BELLE STARR with every variation of amp from Fender to Marshall, Vox and of course Jackson amps has ensured that the BELLE STARR will work on any amp that you couple it up to. The BELLE STARR features 9-18V operation, true bypass switching and a small footprint with top mounted jacks, all making it easy to fit perfectly into any rig!

BLOOM V2 MIDI-Controllable Optical Compressor

Designed to give guitarists maximum dynamic tonal control, the BLOOM V2 is a comprehensive dynamic engine that features fully fledged MIDI control over all 6 compression settings. A three-fold device, the BLOOM V2 manipulates the dynamics of the instrument by way of precisely tuned optical compression, 3-band equalization, boost and sustain circuits which can be activated separately or in tandem with each other, allowing compression control in ways never before possible.

  • Compressor pedal
  • Optical LA-2A style limiting circuit
  • MIDI control over all 6 compression parameters, ON/OFF and Level
  • 6 instant access presets
  • Flat frequency response paired with 3-band EQ for optimal tone shaping
  • Small footprint and top-mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 300 mA current draw)

The BLOOM V2 features an optical limiting circuit that takes its inspiration from compressors designed during the golden age of vacuum tube circuits, known for their transparency and subtlety. While the pedal can provide a very aggressive response at more extreme compression settings, its real strength lies in its ability to add a gentle sweetening and roundness to the tone, as the optical circuit works to polish off any rough edges in the sound. Hidden inside the BLOOM V2 is a second auxiliary compressor circuit identical to the main compressor with two internal trimmers for Comp and Volume. It can be used in series ahead of the main compression circuit in making notes sustain, while still remaining clear and clean. The BLOOM V2 can work as a regular set and forget boost. However, by pressing and holding the footswitch down, the BLOOM circuit can slowly ramp up to the level set by the boost. This programmable ramp-up time, can be used to increase sustain on held notes or to perfectly match the dynamics in a song. The 3-band EQ circuit features a studio-grade EQ that gives tremendous tonal flexibility. Based on the legendary Baxandall EQ that is featured in countless studio devices, the BLOOM V2 takes this circuit and tailors it for guitarists. Jackson Audio spent a huge amount of time on this EQ dialling it in, so it would hit all the frequencies that guitarists need to adjust and then sweetened it by removing the ear-fatiguing highs and lows that can appear at extreme settings. Because of its natural touch response, the BLOOM V2 is ideal for players who typically don’t use compression but want the ‘mastered’ response that optical compression gives to a guitarists tone. Add in the MIDI control of the individual circuits Bypass features (Compressor, EQ, BLOOM) and the overall BLOOM level (via MIDI expression control) and the BLOOM V2 is no doubt one of the most versatile compressor pedals ever made.

BLOSSOM Optical Compressor

Featuring exactly the same optical limiting compression circuit as Jackson Audio’s fully featured compression masterpiece the BLOOM, the BLOSSOM is a simple and easy to use optical compressor. Because of its natural and touch responsive bloom, the BLOSSOM is ideal for players who typically don’t use compression but want the ‘mastered’ response that optical compression gives to a guitarist’s tone.

  • Compressor pedal
  • Optical style limiting circuit from the Jackson Audio BLOOM
  • Simple and easy to use control set
  • Flat frequency response that keeps your tone untouched
  • Tiny footprint and top-mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9 – 18 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 20 mA current draw)

Known for its transparency and subtlety, the BLOSSOM features an optical limiting circuit. Based on the BLOOM’s “country-style” green channel, it takes its inspiration from compressors designed during the golden age of vacuum tube circuits and is perfect for those players who want to squeeze, but also want to keep it simple. Although the pedal can provide a very aggressive response at more extreme compression settings, its real strength lies in its ability to add a gentle sweetening and roundness to the tone as the optical circuit works to polish off any rough edges in the sound. The frequency response of the compressor section is ruler flat and does not boost or cut any of your highs or lows. Just like a well-designed compressor circuit should, the BLOSSOM alters the dynamics of the guitar signal and not the tone – a good compressor should be felt and not heard!

BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI MIDI-controllable Overdrive & Boost

With innovative features never before seen in ANY other overdrive pedal made, the BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI is a comprehensive overdrive platform that is designed to give guitarists an incredible range of overdriven tones. Featuring a very flexible soft clipping overdrive circuit with 4 distinct Styles of clipping options, an innovative gain adjustment feature called GAIN CYCLE, a 3-band active EQ for maximum tonal flexibility and the MOSFET boost circuit found in Jackson Audio’s top-selling PRISM pedal, the BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI is topped off with MIDI control over all its plentiful parameters.

  • Overdrive & Boost pedal, with Soft-clipping overdrive circuit
  • Active 3-band EQ – for optimal tone shaping
  • MIDI control over all parameters, ON/OFF and Boost
  • 4 Clipping-Diode Styles with drastically different sound characteristics
  • 4 differently EQ’d Boost Styles
  • GAIN CYCLE circuit – for instant gain adjustment in 4 steps
  • Small footprint and top-mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 100 mA current draw)

For the overdrive circuit, the pedal is based on a soft clipping overdrive designed in the same vein as the venerable TS-808, but without a set “mid-hump”. Instead you can use the active 3-band EQ to tone-shape the overdrive sound exactly as desired. There are also 4 selectable and distinct clipping modes:
1. Green: Classic Screamer 2. Magenta: Asymmetric Clipping – great for aggressive rhythm parts 3. Blue: Symmetrical Clipping – for a more focused and direct tone 4. Amber: Vintage Marshall – higher headroom for more open and a less compressed tone One of the most exciting features of the BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI is the GAIN CYCLE, which takes the GAIN knob setting and divides that level of gain into 4 equal instantly accessible steps to cycle through. A unique circuit level matches the output of the pedal as various clipping diodes are selected, so now you can select between all four clipping options and your volume level will remain constant.
The boost circuit is MOSFET based, much like the AMP MODE found in Jackson Audio’s best-selling PRISM Preamp pedal. This has its own true bypass loop, which means it can be used independently of the DRIVE circuit. One of the things that makes the boost in the pedal unique from other boosts on the market are the 4 styles available. Each style is EQ’d slightly differently, which allows it to alter how it interacts with the overdrive circuit in the BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI or any other pedal you may have in your rig To top it off, the DRIVE circuit has a 3-band active EQ that gives tremendous tonal flexibility. Based on the legendary Baxandall EQ that is featured in countless studio devices, the BROKEN ARROW V2 MIDI takes this circuit and tailors it for guitarists.

Jackson Audio spent a huge amount of time on this EQ dialling it in, so it would hit all the frequencies that guitarists need to adjust and then sweetened it by removing the ear-fatiguing highs and lows that can appear at extreme settings.

GOLDEN BOY MIDI-controllable Transparent Overdrive

Designed in collaboration with Canadian alt-country star Joey Landreth, the GOLDEN BOY Transparent Overdrive is in no doubt one of the most versatile transparent overdrive pedals ever made. Rich in harmonic detail and overflowing with headroom, the pedal redefines the concept of transparent overdrive and brings it up to date with modern features, such as styles for clipping options, a 3-band active EQ for maximum tonal flexibility and Jackson Audio’s innovative GAIN CYCLE feature. All that is topped off with a separately switchable MOSFET boost circuit and full MIDI control over all the GOLDEN BOY’s plentiful parameters.

  • Transparent Overdrive and Boost pedal
  • Based on the celebrated Bluesbreaker/King of Tone circuit
  • Active 3-band EQ – for optimal tone shaping
  • MIDI control over all parameters, ON/OFF and Boost
  • 4 Clipping-Diode Styles with drastically different sound characteristics
  • 4 differently EQ’d Boost Styles
  • GAIN CYCLE circuit – for instant gain adjustment in 4 steps
  • Small footprint and top-mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Powered by 9 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 100 mA current draw)

For the overdrive circuit, the pedal is based on the Bluesbreaker/King of Tone circuit, resulting in a very open, uncompressed and transparent tone – think ‘John Mayer style’ overdriven tones. It sits in the mix perfectly and while it adds overdrive and grit, your guitar still sounds like your guitar. Where the GOLDEN BOY differs from other Bluesbreaker type circuits is that its overdrive has the ability to run much higher gain. There are also 4 selectable and distinct clipping modes available to further tailor the tone to you. One of the most exciting features of the GOLDEN BOY is the GAIN CYCLE, which takes the GAIN knob setting and divides that level of gain into 4 equal instantly accessible steps to cycle through. Each style is EQ’d slightly differently, which allows it to alter how it interacts with the overdrive circuit in the GOLDEN BOY or any other pedal you may have in your rig To top it off, the DRIVE circuit has a 3-band active EQ that gives tremendous tonal flexibility. Based on the legendary Baxandall EQ that is featured in countless studio devices, the GOLDEN BOY takes this circuit and tailors it for guitarists. Jackson Audio spent a huge amount of time on this EQ dialling it in, so it would hit all the frequencies that guitarists need to adjust and then sweetened it by removing the ear-fatiguing highs and lows that can appear at extreme settings.

PRISM The Tone Sculptor

Designed as the ultimate tone shaping tool for a player’s pedalboard, PRISM is a buffer, boost, preamp, EQ and overdrive, all in one beautiful and compact stainless-steel enclosure. Much like an optical prism that takes white light and breaks it apart into the different colours of the spectrum, the Jackson Audio PRISM takes your guitar’s natural tone and allows you to boost it, shape it and transform it into a new tone that is uniquely yours.

  • Boost, Buffer, Preamp, EQ and Overdrive pedal
  • ±15 dB Active 2-band EQ
  • 3 discrete Boost circuits, each with distinct voicings and 3 levels of gain
  • Perfect as a preamp, always-on or to give that extra push to gain sounds
  • Small footprint
  • Top mounted jacks – for ease of pedalboard mounting
  • Relay-powered True Bypass
  • Powered by 9-18 V DC PSU (center -, 2.1 mm, ~ 10 mA current draw)

Traditionally, most players will use a boost/preamp pedal to drive the front end of a tube amp into overdrive and, given its huge amount of output, the PRISM does this very well. However, Jackson Audio encourage players to experiment by placing the pedal at the front of their pedalboards to enjoy the host of new tones available, as the PRISM boosts their existing signal chain. The three distinct COLOR voices allow the pedal to suit all sorts of tone goals. Use VINTAGE mode for a silicon Treble-Booster style, AMP gives a very musical sounding MOSFET boost that emulates the tonal response of an overdriven vacuum tube amp, while TRANS provides an ultra-transparent JFET boost circuit. Each boost/preamp circuit is totally discrete and is contained in its own True Bypass loop, so there is never any additional circuitry in the signal path. At the very end of the signal chain, PRISM contains a high-current buffer that is used to strengthen your signal and preserve your tone, regardless of how complex your pedalboard is or how long the cable run back to your amp can be. Use PRISM to contour your tone, slam the front-end of your tube amp or add new dimension to your existing pedals – any way you use the pedal, it will be the cornerstone of your rig for many years to come!
