Sound Tech confirms Hamer deal

Sound Technology has confirmed it has secured the Hamer range of guitars for UK and ROI distribution.

Once a mainstay of the late 1970s and ’80s guitar scene – and with a sometime user list that is probably only surpassed by the likes of Gibson and Fender – Hamer faded from prominence as the brand changed ownership in succeeding years, in 2012 suffering the ignominy of being officially ‘killed’ when it was decommissioned by Fender. Now owned by Canada’s KMC Music (aka JAM Industries), the Hamer name was relaunched in 2017 as a line of Chinese made recreations of the original US produced models.

Sound Tech says the 2018/19 product line-up consists of six models: ‘…based on classic Hamer designs and much-loved custom shop models’. They will comprise the Hamer Sunburst based on the late 1970s original, with an RRP of £699, the Monaco Korina (£679), the Monaco (£799 RRP ), the Hamer Archtop (£699) and the Archtop Tremolo (£749) and the Hamer Special Jr. (£529). Sound Tech says all models are in stock now.
