Ernie Ball Music Man has announced its three special editions for March: an Axis in Trans Light Purple, a Cutlass guitar in Natural Gloss, and a Majesty in Gold Sparkle. These guitars are offered in limited production runs which allows the maker: ‘…to present instruments to the public that were previously reserved for family and our loyal artists’.
This Axis features a figured 5A quilt maple top, hand-stained with a translucent purple finish. With a bound Honduran mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard and stainless steel frets, the guitar has a dual humbucking pickup in a mahogany body which is also fitted with white binding. Limited to 27 pieces worldwide.
The Cutlass offers a limited edition natural ash body finished in a polyester clear coat that highlights its grain pattern. Featuring a smooth satin finish all-rosewood neck which is accented with white position markers and hand fitted white binding, the black pickguard includes all black parts which completes the overall aesthetic of the Cutlass Ball Family Reserve package. Limited to 47 pieces worldwide.
Finally, the special edition Majesty offers a unique all-basswood body with a deep gold sparkle finish. The neck-through design includes a high gloss polyester finish, ebony fretboard and Schaller locking tuners. The overall aesthetic of this Ball Family Reserve Majesty is enhanced with an Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci tremolo with all black hardware. Limited to 77 pieces worldwide.
