Learn to Play Day, the flagship event of the charity Music for All, is back on 17th and 18th March 2018. Music shops, schools, venues, instrument manufacturers and anyone who would like to take part is invited to join this music making weekend and help to offer tens of thousands of free musical instruments to one and all.
The organiser says this national event, now in its seventh year, is about giving people everywhere a great reason to visit their local music shop, venue or school to find out more about learning to play a musical instrument. Stuart Lewis at Spider Music in Swansea said of last year’s event: ‘Learn to Play Day was our best financial day of the year so far. We sold lots of children’s guitars, lots of drum sticks, and we now have a huge pile of customers to ring back this week to try and fit them all in!’
Music For all adds: ‘Holding a Learn to Play Day event is a great way to increase awareness in the local community of a music shops, schools or venues. By partnering with Learn to Play Day, musical instrument manufacturers, music teachers and celebrities, new and existing customers are encouraged to visit their local music shop, school or venue where they can find out more about learning to play an instrument.
‘Learn to Play Day offers fabulous marketing opportunities, an excellent excuse to invite local media to visit, great opportunities to engage with manufacturers to provide special offers and a fun way to encourage new and old customers to visit a music establishment’.
