Ashdown is to produce just 50 specially tweaked versions of its valve powered OriginAL pre-amp, each one adjusted to the specification of bassist Norman Watt-Roy and signed by him personally.
Watt-Roy has had a career spanning some 40 years and is regarded as one of the best bass players the UK has ever produced. Most famous for his stunning bass lines with Ian Dury and the Blockheads, he is a long time Ashdown amplification user.
The anodised aluminium front panel of the Norman Watt-Roy OriginAL pedal has been finished in Shoreline Gold to match Norman’s famous 1962 Fender Jazz Bass, known as ‘The Blockhead’, which was his sole gigging and recording bass since the mid-’80s.
The pre-amps will retail at £379.
