JHS debuts Supro head and offers £2000 amp prize to shops

JHS is having a busy week with Supro. Launched on Monday was a head version of the US amp maker’s well reviewed ‘Black Magick’ combo. JHS is also giving away Supro gear worth over £2,000 to one lucky retailer in this week’s JHS Event ‘On The Road’.

The new head is a compact, all-valve unit offering the most gain yet of any of Supro’s reissues. A 25 Watt cathode-biased “Class-A” power section uses 6973 tubes to achieve the ‘instantly recognisable midrange grind and phenomenal touch dynamics that define the Supro sound’ JHS says. The head also offer footswitchable tremolo.
The Black Magick’s pre-amp features two channels wired in parallel, with independent volume controls and a single, shared tone control. The vintage-correct front-end topology of the original 1959 Supro combos has been streamlined in the Black Magick, with automatic linking of channels 1&2 when using only the first input jack. This flexible arrangement provides double the gain when used with one instrument and allows for two instruments to share the same Black Magick or for the use of an A/B/Y box to achieve channel-switching on the fly. The RRP is £1,299
Supro features again in this week’s JHS Event giveaway, as the company announces its latest dealer prize – a Supro Jamesport Guitar and Thunderbolt amplifier bundle worth £2,099 UK RRP.
Chosen at random from every confirmed JHS Event order placed between 23rd and 30th June 2017, a lucky dealer will receive the Supro bundle.
