AKG’s P5i vocal mic offers compatibility across Harman products

Harman’s promise to introduce products from its component companies that work together takes another step forward with the launch of the AKG P5i vocal mic. Boasting what the manufacturer calls ‘Harman Connected PA compatibility’ the AKG P5i is the first microphone designed to automatically configure with the new Harman Connected PA ecosystem – ‘Providing effortless set up, instant recall of performer and presets, and great sound for musicians of all skill levels,’ says UK distributor Sound Technology.
The P5i offers full compatibility with the new Harman Connected PA app which is claimed to eliminate the need for multiple apps or graphic user interfaces (GUIs) and delivers plug-and-play operation with a variety of Harman equipment, allowing users to control their entire live sound system with one app. Products within the Connected PA ecosystem self-identify with the new app for effortless set up, and set-up wizards help customers to quickly optimise volume, configuration settings and sound quality.
Compatible products include: Soundcraft Ui24R digital mixing and multi-track recording system, JBL PRX800W Series Loudspeakers, dbx Di1 Active Direct Box and the AKG P5i Microphone
