Mal Ward retires

Mal Ward, one of the longest serving sales reps in the UK MI industry, is retiring. He leaves the playing field after finishing with Proel in a few days time.
In a message to his customers, Mal said:
‘After working in this crazy and wonderful music business for almost 45 years, I will be leaving Proel in a few days. I have decided to retire from full time work and spend more time in my adopted county of Suffolk. It’s time to get off the M25/A12 and take life a little easier.
‘I have been a very lucky boy, having worked for a number of great companies in the music industry since the start of 1972 when I joined the Premier Drum Company as ‘Promotions Assistant’ on a monthly salary of £65.00!!
‘Over the decades I have worked for Pearl,(6 years) Carlsbro, (10 years), and I have been self employed as an independent rep for many years, as well as jointly owning a flight case manufacturing company based in Ipswich for a few years. Since 2006, I have had a very happy time with Proel, and I will be sad to leave such a great bunch of colleagues, but the time is right for me to bid farewell to life on the road.
‘However, I’m not ready to sit in my rocking chair just yet! I want to do some teaching, some more playing and recording, and I have a few projects that will keep me busy for a while yet. I also have some DIY jobs lining up that I’ve been putting off for ages!’
MIN wishes Mal and long and happy retirement. He can be contacted via email at mal@malward.co.uk
