Faith Guitars has announced that Ben Bridges and Dean Ashton of British punk/ska band The King Blues are now official Faith artists. Ben will be playing a Jupiter Electro Cutaway, with Dean using a Saturn Eclipse Electro Cutaway for all their acoustic performing duties.
Originating as a solo project of lead singer Jonny “Itch” Fox in 2004, The King Blues later expanded into a full band outfit and released their debut album ‘Under The Fog’ in 2006 to critical acclaim with their single ‘Mr Music Man’ voted “Best Punk Song of 2006” by BBC Radio 1.
Noted for immediately making waves in the punk, ska and political music scene with their observations of London urban life and exploration of themes including racism, peace and protest, The King Blues singer “Itch” describes the band’s sound as “rebel street music.” The King Blues went on to release three more albums – ‘Save the World. Get the Girl’ (2008), ‘Punk and Poetry’ (2011) and ‘Long Live The Struggle’ (2012) and a host of EPs before disbanding in 2012 to focus their time on solo projects.
The band announced their reformation in late 2015 via Facebook, closely followed by the release of the EP ‘Off With Their Heads’ in February 2016 and a support slot on Enter Shikari’s ‘Mindsweep’ Tour. The video for the title track, directed by Scoobius Pip, racked up over a quarter of a million views on the day it was released.
The King Blues released their latest album ‘The Gospel Truth’ on 14th April and are currently on tour throughout the UK and Europe.
