NAMM to honour 100 ‘top dealers’ – but only two UK stores make the list

NAMM, has announced its list of winners for the The Top 100 Dealer Awards, to be celebrated at an awards gala on Friday 14th July during Summer NAMM in Nashville. Namm says: ‘The annual awards show recognizes the industry’s outstanding music retailers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their stores, neighborhoods and customers, and share in a vision of creating a more musical world through their local communities’.
Of the top 100 from around the world, just two UK stores made the list – Andertons of Guildford, Surrey and Millers Music, of Cambridge.
NAMM explains that from a self-submission process; ‘…an independent panel of judges numerically rated the Top 100 Dealers across several categories including customer service, music advocacy, store design and promotions. Each submission was scored to determine the Top 100 list, the category awards and the overall Dealer of the Year award.’
‘At the heart of every music store, there is a story of inspiration, dedication and a pursuit to create a more musical world,’ says Joe Lamond, NAMM President and CEO. ‘The Top 100 Dealers exemplify a commitment – to their communities, their staff, and the industry to create a space which welcomes and inspires music makers through their products and services.’
From the Top 100 honorees, seven music retailers will be recognised in “Best Of” categories including: Best Store Turnaround, Best Customer Service, Best Store Design, Best Marketing and Sales Promotion, Best Online Engagement, Best Emerging Dealer/Rookie of the Year, and one recipient will be honoured with the ‘Music Makes a Difference’ award. The coveted ‘Dealer of the Year’ award will go to one of the recipients in the aforementioned categories.
