Sennheiser’s new wireless systems available now

Wireless systems needn’t be daunting to use, is the message from Sennheiser as it launches its brand new XS Wireless 1 system, debuted at NAMM last week but available immediately, the company says.

The XS Wireless 1 series comprises a total of six wireless microphone sets for the budget-conscious user looking for ease of use, fast set-up and reliable transmission, the company says. Artists, bands and presenters are ready to perform within seconds, thanks to automatic frequency management with one-touch synchronisation and intuitive, icon-based controls.

‘Excellent live sound combined with the simplicity that first-time wireless users prefer – this is the hallmark of XS Wireless 1,’ says Oliver Schmitz, Portfolio Manager, Live Performance and Music. ‘In developing the series, we have paid special attention to making user operation as straightforward as it can be, and to offering great sound while ensuring affordability.’

The series uses Sennheiser evolution capsules, and employs antenna switching diversity for reliable reception. The individual sets provide up to ten compatible, preset channels in eight frequency banks, and are available in a number of ranges across the UHF spectrum (A: 548-572MHz, GB: 606-630MHz, B: 614-638MHz, C: 766-790MHz, D: 794-806MHz, E: 821-832MHz + 863-865MHz, K: 925-937.5MHz). The receiver provides balanced XLR and unbalanced jack outputs.

All XS Wireless 1 sets come complete with receiver, transmitter, microphone (capsule) or instrument cable, power supply unit and batteries. Two XS Wireless1 Vocal Sets give a choice of two different microphone capsules, the e825 cardioid capsule or the superior capsule of the e835, also with a cardioid pick-up pattern. Also included is a microphone clamp.

The XS Wireless 1 Headmic Set with ME3-II headworn microphone is an ideal solution for any live sound application where users need to have their hands free when singing or presenting, while the Lavalier Mic Set includes the unobtrusive ME2-2 lavalier microphone with mic clip.

The Instrument Set of the series includes the robust CI1 instrument cable.

Brass players, meanwhile, will be pleased to hear that Sennheiser has a dedicated Brass Set in the XS Wireless1 range, which provides an evolution e908T gooseneck microphone that clips onto the instrument.
