New Paul Brett 12-string from JHS

As well as debuting its new Fishman collaboration with the Fret-King Fluence series, JHS is also launching an addition to its Paul Brett series at NAMM, the Paul Brett Statesboro’ 12 string acoustic and electric models from Vintage.

Designed by 12-string guitarist and vintage guitar expert Paul Brett as a tribute to the pioneering blues era of the 1930s and in particular, the legendary Blind Willie McTell, the new Vintage Statesboro’ oozes pure nostalgia.

Featuring a solid spruce top, with maple back and mahogany sides mated to a mahogany neck, the Statesboro’s bone saddle and bone nut provides, ‘excellent intonation and tone, with plenty of volume’.

‘Using the designs of the legendary Stella guitars crafted by Oscar Schmidt in the early 20th century,” says Paul Brett ‘Vintage and I have created a homage to the iconic model that Willie himself played. Obviously we have updated various elements to morph into todays market, but in essence, it looks like and certainly sounds like a big blues machine of that era.’

Available in both acoustic (V5000SB-12) and electro-acoustic models (VE5000SB-12 – with the addition of a Fishman Rare Earth humbucker soundhole pickup system) the Statesboro’ is designed for traditional blues pickers and is also able to handle many other styles and tunings, depending on string gauges, the company says.
