The latest Drum Workshop Collector’s Series Icon Snare honours legendary drummer, Terry Bozzio and the complex percussion piece written for him by iconic American composer and musician Frank Zappa entitled, “The Black Page.” Paying homage to this infamous composition for drumset and percussion, “The Black Page” Icon Snare Drum features a laser-engraving of the drum notation and Zappa’s trademark moustache logo in dyed black pearwood which is inlaid into a background of highly-figured white birdseye maple. Each drum is hand-signed by Bozzio and will be accompanied by a limited edition vinyl recording of “The Black Page Drum Solo/Black Page #1” (Zappa Records). A portion of proceeds from the sale of the snare will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
