Gretsch has announced an all-new Cliff Gallup Signature Duo Jet model and, at the same time, expanded its G6120 Duane Eddy Signature model range with two new limited edition finishes.
Guitarist with Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps in the 1950s, Cliff Gallup was the inspiration of many top British guitar players who emerged during the 1960s, notably Jeff Beck. A Gretsch Duo Jet user, Gallup set the pace during that era for rockabilly and rock ‘n roll stylists.
The new Gretsch is based on Gallup’s 1954 model. Dubbed the G6128T-CLFG Cliff Gallup Signature Duo Jet it boasts dual DynaSonic pickups, a rosewood fingerboard with “big block” pearloid inlays, compensated aluminium bridge with aluminium base, a Bigsby B3BBST vibrato tailpiece with black painted trough and fixed arm, classic “arrow” control knobs, flat-wound strings, and a dark-stained headstock bearing Gallup’s signature on the truss rod cover.
The new additions to the Duane Eddy signature limited edition Gretsches are Black and Pearl White finishes. The Black lacquer version is highlighted with aged white binding, while the durable urethane Pearl White guitar features tortoiseshell binding.
