MESA Boogie has expanded its Subway bass series with the launch of three new products due to be available in the UK from 15th December.

Possibly destined to attract the most attention is the new Subway Bass DI/pre-amp carrying an RRP of £220. Small enough to fit in a gig bag, the US-made Bass DI crams the features of a Subway D-800 bass amp into a compact chassis. The full range of features includes: Active/Passive Input Switch and Preamplifier features: Input Gain, Variable Voicing (Flat to Vintage Scoop), Fully Active 4-Band EQ (+/- 12dB of Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, Treble) plus Deep Switch (for enhanced low-end) and Master Volume x Balanced XLR Direct Mic Level Out with Pre/Post & Ground Lift Switches Line Level Preamp Outputs – Unbalanced & Balanced with Ground Lift Switch (drives any power amp) Instrument-Thru Output . Usefully it is powered by AC or Battery and auto-switches to battery if the mains AC fails.

Also new is the Subway D-800+ which will retail at RRP £1,050. Essentially a big brother to the existing D-800, the D-800+ includes a more comprehensive semi-parametric EQ section, a BRIGHT switch, adjustable HI PASS Filter, and on the back panel, a Series FX Loop, Tuner Output and 1/4” footswitch jack.

Finally, MESA has a new 2×10 diagonal ultra-liight bass speaker cabinet with an RRP of £1,175. Boasting lightweight Italian poplar cabinets with ‘aviation style bracing’, neodymium speakers with an HF horn the 600 Watts RMS rated cab weighs just 43lbs.
