Gold Media joins forces with Mike Dolbear and Manchester Drum Show for blockbuster event.
September 23rd & 24th 2017 sees the launch of The UK Drum Show, organized by Neil Golding of Gold Media and Events Ltd (the owner of Music Instrument News), who parted company with Future Publishing following the London Drum Show this weekend.
Golding, who launched the London Drum Show while at Oyster House seven years ago and has organised main stage artists and exhibitors as well as selling the show since then says: ‘I have enjoyed running this event for the past seven years in London, both with Oyster House Publishing and then Blaze Publishing and I wish Future Publishing well. On a personal level, I seek a new audience with a show based more centrally in the UK, where I’m looking to create a stable environment, providing a dedicated drum show for the next generation of drummers and percussionists.’
Joining Golding in the new venture is Mike Dolbear of MikeDolbear.com, who adds,’ I have worked with Neil for many years now and together we have enjoyed the success and challenges of organizing consumers shows. For both Neil and I, working within the drumming community is a passion and privilege and we look forward to adding different aspirations to the new show over the coming years’.
Also joining Golding is Martin Oldham of Drum Tech Support, who has been a key figure backstage in the industry for many years and has previously run both the backstage and the main stage at the London Drum Show.
Additionally, Alex Lindley of Amedia Cymbals and Phil ‘Pesky’ Westwood of PMT Manchester, who have been the organisers of the Manchester Drum Show, will be joining forces with The UK Drum Show.
Golding says that major brands backing the show have already been confirmed, including: Amedia Cymbals, Active Music, Backbone Drums, BR Distribution, British Drum Co, EMD, Gewa, Guru Drums, Headstock Distribution, Korg UK, Natal, Roland UK and Soar Valley Music.
Artists already booked to appear include Thomas Lang, Craig Blundell and Michael Schack, with more to come.
The UK Drum Show website will carry updates and full information on the show and is to be launched later this week.
