JHS has launched a new range of recorders from the educational instrument manufacturer Angel.
JHS says the Angel recorder’s simulated wood grain finish combined with cream coloured mouthpiece, ring joint and end piece: ‘makes the range very attractive, with a softer feel than standard plastic recorders – improving ease of play and providing accurate tuning and clear projection.’
Between a Soprano and Tenor in size, the Angel F Treble Recorder £29.99 UK rrp) has the same general shape as a soprano, but is approximately 50% larger in all dimensions. A 50% increase in length causes a 50% increase in the wavelength for a given fingering. This lowers the pitch by a perfect fifth C to F.
Perhaps the most commonplace member of the recorder family, the Angel C Descant Recorder (£19.99) is perfect for players of all ages and abilities, JHS says. Meanwhile the Angel F Sopranino Recorder (£14.99 UK rrp) is the smallest member of the range. Made for the same soft-feel, yet hard-wearing materials, it is claimed to be the ideal way to introduce the younger player to the recorder family. Ideal for the beginner, meanwhile, the Angel C Descant Recorder (£3.99 UK rrp) is finished in tough, clear blue plastic
All three come complete with stylish carry cases, cleaning rod and joint grease.
